Mecha
(Updated 5/20/05)
SAMPLE MECHA
Listed below are examples of mecha that can be found in the world of
Catgirl Avengers. Most are based on real life mecha, though there
will likely be minor discrepancies between the actual capabilities and
what is listed here. Please bear us, as these mecha were
generated using a standardized format to keep things quick and
easy. Scale values for range, speed, and acceleration are given
in Mecha Scale (1" = 100 feet or 10 MPH) for all mecha except aircraft
with a Top Speed of 250 MPH or higher,
which use Fighter Scale (1" = 500 feet or 50 MPH).
Aircraft
McDonnel
Douglas F-15C Eagle Multirole
Fighter (44 CPs)
One
of the top fighter bombers in
the world, the F-15 is primarily an American aircraft, though it is
also employed by the air forces of Israel, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and
South Korea.

Mikoyan
and Gurevich MiG-29C Fulcrum
Multirole Fighter (39.5 CPs)
Considered
by some to be the equal of the F-15 Eagle, the MiG-29 is actually
slower, has shorter range, a smaller weapon payload, and less
sophisticated avionics. It is superior to the F-15 in agility and
short range dogfighting capability, with a special helmet mounted fire
control system to allow the acquisition of targets for its heat seeking
missiles at angles far off from straight ahead. The MiG-29 has
been widely exported to former Soviet client states, and is a common
non-Western fighter aircraft.

Sukhoi
Su-37 Terminator Multirole
Fighter (44 CPs)
Also
known as the Super Flanker.
The cutting edge of Russian conventional fighter aircraft, combining
speed, supreme agility, and excellent avionics. The Su-37
represents a long evolutionary development for Sukhoi, starting with
the Su-27 Flanker, and continuing with the Su-47 Berkut (a forward
swept wing variant). It is believed that a Russian fusion-power
ultratech fighter is in development using the basic airframe and
avionics of the Su-37, but the secrecy surrounding the project is
uncharacteristically high, even for the Russians.

F-14D Tomcat Interceptor (61.5 CPs)
The
F-14D Tomcat is a carrier based fleet defense interceptor, tasked with
maintaining a secure two hundred mile radius around the carrier.
The Tomcat is designed around the AIM-54C Phoenix long range missile,
which has a maximum effective range of 100 nautical miles, and the
Tomcat's fire control system is capable of launching and guiding up to
six missiles to their targets at one time. The Tomcat is used
almost exclusively by the U.S., though a handful remain in the hands of
Iran, which were sold to the Shah just prior to his ouster in 1979.

M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank (60 CPs)
The
last word in early 21st Century armor. Considered by many to be
the finest main battle tank in the world, the Abrams is the result of
the melding of an American turbine power plant, drive train, and
electronics; British Chobham composite heavy armor; and a German
Rheinmetall 120mm
smoothbore Main Gun. The Abrams is used by the U.S., Egypt, Saudi
Arabia, and Kuwait. (Export model M1's are not up to the M1A2 standard.)

T-72S Main Battle Tank (44.5 CPs)
The
primary Soviet-era export model main battle tank. Found
throughout the world in ex-Warsaw Pact and Soviet client state armies,
the T-72 has begun a migration to the private armies of the world as
more modern Russian tanks such as the T-80, T-84, and T-90 are offered
to states.

M7A1
Combat Infantry Hardsuit (11 CPs)(Ultratech)
A
unit designed and built by a partnership of General Dynamics and
Excalibur Mechaworks for the U.S, Canada, Great Britain, India, Israel,
and Australia. The M7A1 is designed as an infantry hardsuit for
hostile environments and urban combat against irregular forces.
It does not have enough armor protection or heavy armament to enable it
to go against armored forces, but excels as a scout and cavalry
flanker. Unlike many hardsuits in production, the M7A1 has good
combat endurance. The M7A1 will increase the operator's BOD
rank for feats of strength by one level. |

M9A2
Combat Infantry Landmate (16.5 CPs)(Ultratech)
The
M9A2 Combat Infantry Landmate is the fire support counterpart to the
M7A1. In addition to limited flight capabilities which the M7A1 lacks,
the M9 has a dozen mini missiles for explosive punch at close
range. It is also slightly faster in addition to being better
armored. The U.S. Army is currently debating a switch to all M9
Mobile Infantry units, but for now is keeping both the M7 and M9
working in tandem. The M9A2 will increase the operator's BOD
rank for feats of strength by one level. |

Black
Sun Armory LM-17 Blitz Faust
Landmate (16.5 CPs)(Ultratech)
The LM-17 Blitz Faust is
the first commercial
Landmate offering from the eccentric Black Sun Armory - a firm that
previously designed and manufactured gauss weapons. The LM-17 was
designed as an anti-armor and anti-helicopter platform, a walking
tank/chopper killer standing about seven feet tall and weighing about
1.5 tons. The primary weapon is a high velocity shoulder mounted
40mm Gauss Cannon delivering the muzzle energy equal to a 105mm direct
fire cannon. Ordinarily, the low endurance of the LM-17 would be
a problem, as it can only go all-out for about three hours before
depleting its fuel cell, but as it was intended more for a role as a
sniper, the only time it needs to move is after it has made a
shot. The LM-17 has been sold in small lots to a host of
organizations with a need for massive firepower to defeat armored
vehicles and helicopters, which means in most cases well-heeled
criminal and terrorist organizations. The LM-17 will increase the operator's
BOD
rank for feats of strength by one level. |

KVM-08 Heavy Landmate (22 CPs)(Ultratech)
Russia's
first production model powered armor weapon system, the KVM-08 is a
walking mini-tank designed to combat Chechen guerillas in Central
Asia. The KVM-08 suffers from a lack of endurance, and its flight
capabilities are limited to short hops, but it is heavily armored for
an infantry weapon system, and carries a 30mm cannon capable of
knocking out Main Battle Tanks in addition to its formidable missile
armament. The KVM-08 stands ten feet tall, allowing it to
function effectively in urban and broken terrain environments, though
like most bipedal mecha designs, it is comparatively vulnerable on open
ground. The
KVM-08 will increase the operator's BOD rank for feats of strength by
one level. |

Consortium Type-M Landmate (16 CPs)(Ultratech)
One
of the world's first powered armor battle systems, created by a
consortium of Japanese heavy industry and technology corporations to
supply the JGSDF and for export to friendly nations. The Type-M
Landmate suffers from a lack of endurance that plagues most current
hardsuit and powered armor designs, as it may only run at full output
for about four hours before requiring refuelling of its power
plant. The Type-M will increase the operator's BOD rank for feats
of strength by one level.

Consortium Type-S Hardsuit (12 CPs)(Ultratech)
A
follow on to the Type-M project, the Type-S is a powered armor sneak
suit for use in covert operations and intelligence gathering in hostile
areas. The suit has an active visual camouflage system that
renders the operator invisible to visible and infrared light similar to
the ability Invisibility. An
ultratech contragrav system gleaned from alien technology allows the
suit to glide silently above the ground for up to an hour. Like
many hardsuits, the Type-S also suffers from a lack of endurance, and
can only operate at peak levels for about five hours total, though
using the contragrav will reduce this by up to an hour. The
Type-S does not increase the operator's BOD rank for feats of strength. |

F-44A Wasp Ultralight Fighter
(25.5 CPs)
An
ultralight fighter created for export sale as an inexpensive defensive
fighter-bomber. The Wasp is the culmination of high technology at
an affordable price, and has been purchased extensively throughout the
world. The Wasp is not meant to compete head on with advanced air
to air fighters such as the F-15 and SU-37, but its stealthy design
does help to level the playing field, and it is hard to beat the
relatively cheap $7.5 million price tag.
